Posture correction (for children)

Posture correction (for children)

Children are our happiness and the most important wealth. When the child is growing, the spine bone tissue is still incomplete and ligaments are not yet consolidated.

Due to the permanent stress, inadequate load of physical and psychological activities and physiological features (such as muscles develope slower than bones during adolscence, therefore body systems cannot adjust to each other correctly).

Recent research has brought the phenomenon of “Text Neck” into the public eye. This is the forward head posture caused by spending extended periods of time looking at their phones or tablets. Statistics show that the posture disorders are rapidly increasing among younger people.

Poor posture causes neck pain, back pain, pins and needles and headaches. Increased strain placed on the joints and muscles surrounding the spine results in stiffness, dysfunction and long term pain.
Therefore during this service, the physiotherapist examines and observes constitutional type and diagnoses functionality and capacity of muscles.

Poor posture affects a whole host of bodies normal functions. An article in The American Journal of Pain Management (AJPM 1994; 4:36-39) showed that posture can affect blood pressure, pulse rate, breathing, bowel functions and even hormonal system. This means that posture will not only inflict a pain, but could be having a detrimental effect on overall health status.
